Welcome

Women are shaping the 'new economy'!

The Australian Women Chamber of Commerce is the peak body for women business owners in Australia.

Our Mission:

Research: We create evidence-based research that drives policy.
Education: We support business growth through education.
Leadership: We are the leading voice for women business owners.

Leadership and lobbying: Our CEO, Yolanda Vega, was recently appointed to the Federal Government Small Business Advisory Committee (SBAC) ensuring your voice is heard at the tables where the decisions are being made and working to reduce red tape to help you and your business.

We have requested governments (Federal, State and Local) ensure women business owners are able to be suppliers. Billions of dollars worth of contracts are provided to SMEs around the nation every year, however there is no information available on whom received what! Data must be collected; as voters we have the right to know where and how our dollars are spent and by whom! If women can't access contracts, they will stop spending and the economy will come to a dead halt! All governments need to look at women and make sure they get a fair go in business! Thirty years of discussions is long enough!; action must be taken today.

The national research results from women around the country are now available and reveal incredible changes are taking place. The data has provided the information needed to give you what you want and ensure you get assistance with what you need. The data is also assisting AWCCI to work on policies and programs to better support women whose businesses are based in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote communities.

A Voice for Women In BusinessWe are Australia's first and only national chamber for women and signatory to the APEC Declaration endorsed at the first Women's Economic Summit in 2011 chaired by Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The AWCCI works diligently to promote the importance and value-add of women-owned firms to the economy and supports the development and growth of women through research, education and advocacy.
